Dentists also use general anesthesia for adults, which puts patient in complete sleep and is unaware of things happening around. The decision of choosing type of anesthesia varies with patient and the degree of surgery because wisdom tooth is located deep inside the mouth.
Before surgery the patient has to go under intense care and medical checkups because it involves taking anesthesia. People with high blood pressure and over weight should consult their doctors. General medicines taken by patient are also taken into consideration during medical checkup. The patient is also checked for allergic from medicines and other things. It is also good to ask dentist about your concerns before surgery and you should be clear with your decision. The patient will feel sleepy due to anesthesia but its effect will go away in one day.
